Homestay parents Roni and Luboš are qualified ESL teachers and are currently teaching at Gold Coast schools. Roni has taught at five schools on the Gold Coast, as well as having been a Public Relations and Marketing person for the Gold Coast Hinterland Tourism Association, a broadcaster and mother. She has lived on the Gold Coast since 1975. Her degree majors were in English Literature/Media and Cultural Studies.
Luboš came to the Gold Coast from the Czech Republic and has completed his Masters of Education and taught for 6 years in High Schools. His English skills improved quickly so he gained his CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching for Adults) qualifications in April 2007 and has been teaching ever since.
Roni and Luboš are both aware of what it is like settling into a new country, its culture and a new environment. Therefore, they empathise with each student who joins their home.
Family is very important to both of them and opening their home to international students gives them great pleasure. You will find family meals, game nights and outings a lot of fun and great for your English as well.
Their favourite free time activities include exercise, walking on the beach, movies, reading, travelling and Luboš really loves sport.
There are only 3 rooms available in their private home so the family is always close and intimate.
